Eloquent One Promotion’s first event with George Chuvalo and Dan Baker was a complete success. The first day of the event (Friday, May 27th) was entitled Dining with George and was held to a packed house at the Sports Rock pub in Dieppe. Chuvalo was very happy to see such a great crowd show up. There were many speakers on hand but a surprise guest showed up by the name of Charlie Foster who covered the fight live in Toronto in 1966 when Chuvalo fought the great Ali. Foster waited all this time to get his original program signed by Chuvalo and after forty some years finally got him to sign it. Next, council member and official, George Doiron, made a speech and invited C.P.B.C. president, Mr. Don Collette to present Chuvalo with the C.P.B.C. Honorary Lifetime Champion award as well as an official C.P.B.C. Championship belt. It was a great night and many pictures were taken, some of which are posted above.

On Saturday at the Wesleyen Center on St-George Blvd, we heard George tell his story of how he lost 3 sons and his wife to drugs and substance abuse. It was very touching to the audience, with people coming up and telling their own stories and asking questions. After a short intermission and George Chuvalo signing autographs, Dan Baker came up and spoke to the audience about grieving and how to deal with such losses. Dan is a very well known expert in these situations and kept the audience very interested and answered their questions. All in all a great successful event and many lives touched.
